Primavera del Prosecco DOC 2009

When the hills are filled with colours and aromas, you know it’s time to try out the wines from the latest vintage. Springtime sees the “wine festival” and the various shows from Valdobbiadene to Conegliano and Vittorio Veneto that mark the “official” unveiling of these wines to the public. The “Primavera del Prosecco” – or “Prosecco Springtime” – is an umbrella initiative that gathers together all of the Prosecco events in the local area.

Urban trekking: a leisurely way to savour tourism; a way to get to know corners of the town that at a different pace would remain undiscovered; a way for the residents to breathe in the atmosphere of places that at other times they experience as part of the everyday frenzy.

Fairytale locations

Sarmede, Cansiglio Forest and the Prosecco Hills

It is the land of fairytales but also of great wines, and it may well be that there is more than just a circumstantial link between the two.

Perhaps it was not by chance that illustrator Stepan Zavrel, an exile from the Prague Spring, ended up among these very hills. He went on to attract friends and colleagues from all over the world here and eventually decided to create, almost for the sake of enjoyment, the International Exhibition of Illustrations for Children, which is now the biggest show of its kind in Europe.

“Remarks on the Route” competition at the Canaletto exhibit

The “Remarks on the Route” competition is being organised during the important “Canaletto. Venezia e i suoi splendori” exhibit at Casa dei Carraresi in Treviso.
The Province of Treviso also has an information booth located inside the museum, with tourist office personnel present during specific times to present the Province’s initiatives and to distribute the promotional materials it has been publishing for years to promote our region.
